Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), located in Malpe, Karnataka, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), is inviting online applications from dynamic young professionals for the position of Executive Trainee. The recruitment drive is aimed at filling vacancies in the Mechanical, Electrical, and Naval Architecture disciplines.
Discipline and Educational Qualification
Eligible candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Mechanical: Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 65% marks from a recognized university.
- Electrical: Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 65% marks from a recognized university.
- Naval Architecture: Degree in Naval Architecture with at least 65% marks from a recognized university.

Compensation and Benefits
- Stipend: Selected candidates will undergo one year of training, during which they will receive a consolidated monthly stipend of ₹50,000/-.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit for all posts is 27 years as of 05 September 2024, meaning candidates should be born on or after 06 September 1997. Age relaxation is applicable: 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC candidates for the respective reserved posts.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two phases:
- Phase-I – Objective Type Online Test (60 Marks)
- The test duration is 60 minutes and includes 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering General Awareness, English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, and Subject-Specific Knowledge.
- Each question carries one mark, with no negative marking.
- Phase II – Group Discussion (GD), Writing Skills, and Personal Interview (40 Marks)
- Group Discussion: 10 marks
- Writing Skills: 10 marks
- Personal Interview: 20 marks
The final selection will be based on the total score from both phases, amounting to 100 marks.

- SC/ST: Exempted from application fee
