Railway Recruitment Boards Announce Revised Vacancy for Technician Posts Under CEN No. 02/2024

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued an update regarding CEN No. 02/2024, which was initially published for recruiting Technicians across Indian Railways. Originally, were 9,144 vacancies spread across 18 categories for open line positions. However, in response to additional demand from Workshops and Production Units (PUs), the total number of vacancies has increased to 14,298, covering 40 categories.

Revised Vacancy Details

The revised community-wise and category-wise vacancy distribution for various posts across all RRBs is provided in the document titled “CEN No. 02/2024- Revised Vacancy Table: Annexure B-1.” This document replaces the earlier Annexure-B of CEN No. 02/2024.

Post Parameters and Qualifications

Along with the increased vacancies, new categories of posts have been added for Workshops and PUs. The specific post parameters, including qualifications, medical standards, and suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), are detailed in “Annexure A-1,” which serves as an addendum to the original Annexure-A of CEN No. 02/2024.

Application Opportunities

Given the different educational qualifications and medical standards required for some of the newly added categories, fresh eligible candidates will have the opportunity to apply against CEN No. 02/2024. The online application link for these candidates will be available shortly on the official RRB websites for a period of 15 days.

Modification for Existing Candidates

Candidates who have already applied will also be given the chance to modify their applications. They can change their RRB preference, select Zonal Railways/Workshops/PUs within their chosen RRB, and adjust their preferences for various post categories. This modification link will also be active for 15 days on the official RRB websites.
