Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill the following educational criteria as of the date of the notification (28 February 2026).
- Academic Qualification:
- Must have passed the 10th class (SSLC/Matric) examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- Technical Qualification:
- Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade, issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) .
- Important: Candidates who are awaiting ITI/NTC results or have failed in ITI are NOT eligible to apply.
- Higher Qualification Restriction:
- Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for this recruitment, as they are covered under a separate apprenticeship scheme.
- Employment Exchange Registration (Mandatory for most):
- Candidates must have a valid, current registration with the local Employment Exchange as on 28 February 2026.
- Preference will be given to candidates registered in Employment Exchanges within the jurisdiction of the State of Karnataka.
- Wards of Railway Employees:
- Wards of serving railway employees across Indian Railways are also eligible. For this category, Employment Exchange registration is not necessary. Their applications must be sent through their parent’s controlling official.
Age Limit (As on 1 March 2026)
- Minimum Age: 15 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years (up to 29 years)
- OBC Candidates: 3 years (up to 27 years)
Stipend / Salary
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during their apprenticeship training:
- For Trades (Fitter, Machinist, Mechanic MV, Turner, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic): ₹12,261/- per month
- For CNC Programming cum-Operator (COE Group): ₹10,899/- per month
Important Note: This is an apprenticeship training engagement. It is not obligatory for the Railways to offer employment to apprentices upon completion of training.

- Fee Amount: ₹100/- (Processing Fee)
- Mode of Payment: Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) from any Nationalized Bank.
- Payable to: ‘Principal Financial Adviser / Rail Wheel Factory’.
- Exempted Categories: SC / ST / Physically Handicapped / Women candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
- Applications without the fee (where applicable) will be summarily rejected.

Selection Process
- Selection will be based on the merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the ITI (NTC) examination.

Eligible candidates must apply offline by following these steps:
