Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a full-time, on-campus regular degree (correspondence, distance education, part-time, and research-based degrees are not accepted) in one of the following disciplines:

Minimum Marks Required: 60% aggregate marks from a university/institution recognized by AICTE/UGC.

GATE Score Requirement

• Candidates must hold a valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 score in the same discipline as their qualifying degree .
• GATE 2023 and earlier scores are not valid .
• Equal weightage is given to all three years’ GATE scores for shortlisting.

Final Year / Appearing Candidates

Selection Process

The selection for Executive Trainee posts is a two-stage process:

Stage 1: Shortlisting based on GATE Score

• Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview based on GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores .

• GATE score carries no weightage in the final selection – it is only used for shortlisting .

Training Details

Selected candidates undergo a one-year orientation training at one of NPCIL’s Nuclear Training Centres (NTC) :

• Candidates in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation disciplines must choose a Reactor Stream :
  • Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR)
  • Light Water Reactor (LWR)
• Civil discipline candidates need not indicate a reactor stream preference .
• After successful training completion, candidates are appointed as Scientific Officer/C in Group A on a one-year probation .
