Eligibility Criteria

A. Educational Qualification & Experience:

  • The required qualification varies significantly by post. It ranges from 10+2 for Level-1 posts (e.g., Library Attendant) to Master’s Degree or Engineering Degrees for higher-level posts (e.g., Engineers, Audit Officer).
  • Essential Requirement: Most posts require relevant work experience in a government, university, or recognized institution. The duration of required experience varies (e.g., 3 to 8 years).
  • Candidates must refer to the official notification PDF for the exact, post-specific educational and experience requirements.

B. Age Limit (As on the closing date):

  • General Upper Age Limit: 40 years for most posts.
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Government of India and University rules for candidates belonging to:
    • SC/ST
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
    • Ex-Servicemen
  • Special Provision: University employees with 3 or more years of regular service have no upper age limit for applying.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee as per the following structure. Payment should be made online/UPI to the University’s account, and the receipt must be attached with the application.

Fee Exemption: Candidates who had applied earlier under Advertisement No. 01/2023-24 for posts marked (*) in the new notification are exempted from paying the fee but must submit a fresh application.


Selection Process & Salary

Selection Process:

The selection will be multi-staged, as applicable for each post:

  1. Written Examination: For screening candidates.
  2. Skill / Trade Test: Mandatory for posts like Stenographer, Personal Assistant, Private Secretary (typing/shorthand speed test), and for technical posts like Junior Engineer.
  3. Interview: Final assessment of shortlisted candidates.

Salary & Pay Scale:

  • Selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate Pay Level as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).
  • The pay levels for these posts range from Level-1 to Level-12, along with applicable allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) as per University norms.

Follow these steps carefully to ensure your application is accepted:

  1. Download Form & Notification: Visit the official JMI website at www.jmi.ac.in. Go to the “Recruitment” or “Career” section and download the official notification (Advt. No. 02/2025-26 (NT)) and the prescribed application form.
  2. Fill the Application: Fill the form completely and legibly in BLOCK LETTERS. Paste a recent passport-size photograph in the designated space.
  3. Gather Documents: Prepare self-attested photocopies of all required documents:
    • Educational Certificates & Mark Sheets.
    • Experience Certificates.
    • Caste/Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD), if applicable.
    • Age Proof (Matriculation Certificate).
    • Fee Payment Receipt.
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer, if employed in Government/PSU/University.
  4. Pay the Fee: Pay the applicable fee online/UPI and obtain the payment receipt.
