India Optel Limited (IOL) Project Technician Recruitment 2025: Apply for 149 Vacancies

India Optel Limited (IOL), a prominent Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has announced a significant recruitment drive for the year 2025. The IOL Project Technician Recruitment 2025 notification invites applications from eligible ITI-qualified candidates for 149 vacancies on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis. The positions are for various trades at its Optical Factory in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

This is a prime opportunity for skilled technicians to join a prestigious defence manufacturing unit. Candidates will be selected based on their marks in the NTC/NAC final examination, followed by a qualifying Trade Test.

The 149 vacancies are distributed across six different technical trades. The category-wise breakdown is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

A. Essential Educational Qualification (As on the closing date):

• Must have passed Matriculation (10th Standard) from a recognized board.
• Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) / National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
• For Ex-Servicemen: Class-III trade certificate (equivalent to NAC) or Class-II & I trade certificate (equivalent to NTC) with due endorsement.
• Important Note: Candidates holding an Engineering Degree or Diploma but not possessing the NTC/NAC in the relevant trade are NOT ELIGIBLE.

B. Age Limit (As on the closing date):

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years

C. Age Relaxation:

Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India orders:

Salary, Selection Process & Tenure

Salary & Benefits:

• Basic Pay: ₹20,000/- per month.
• Allowances: Industrial Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible.
• Annual Increment: 3% on basic pay, subject to satisfactory performance review.
• Other Benefits: As per the terms of the Fixed Term Contract.

Tenure of Contract:

• The initial contract period will be for 01 (one) year.
• It may be extended further, subject to organizational requirement and satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of 04 (four) years.

Selection Process:

The selection will be a two-stage process:

1. Shortlisting for Trade Test: Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:1.25 (i.e., 125 candidates per 100 vacancies) based on the percentage of marks obtained in the final examination of NTC/NAC.
2. Qualifying Trade Test (Practical): Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a trade-specific practical test. This test is qualifying in nature. Failure to qualify in the Trade Test will lead to disqualification.
3. Final Merit List: The final selection will be made strictly on the basis of the percentage of marks in the NTC/NAC examination, in the order of merit, from among candidates who qualify in the Trade Test.

2. Fill the Application: Fill the form completely in BLOCK LETTERS using a black/blue pen. Ensure all entries are correct.
3. Attach Documents: Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents:
   • Matriculation (10th) Marksheet & Certificate.
   • NTC/NAC Certificate and Marksheet.
   • Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in the prescribed format, if applicable.
   • PwBD Certificate, if applicable.
   • Ex-Servicemen Discharge Certificate, if applicable.
   • Proof of Date of Birth.
