Educational Qualification
Candidates should have:
- 10+2 / 12th pass from a recognised Board or Institution; and
- A Certificate in Motor Mechanic from a recognised Institution or Industrial Training Institute with three years practical experience in the trade in a reputed workshop; or
- A three-year Diploma in Automobile Engineering.

The age limit is 18 to 25 years.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PET is qualifying in nature and carries no marks. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET but must qualify the other prescribed stages.
Written Examination Pattern
The written examination carries 100 marks with objective-type multiple-choice questions. Duration is 2 hours.
