Eligibility Criteria (Summary)

1. Educational Qualification & Marks

Eligibility varies significantly for each of the 16 Post Codes. The general pattern is:

• For Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post Code 01-03): Ph.D. in the relevant field + M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc (60% or 6.5 CGPA) + B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (65% or 6.84 CGPA).
• For Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Post Code 04-11): M.E./M.Tech (60% or 6.5 CGPA) + B.E./B.Tech (65% or 6.84 CGPA) in the relevant discipline.
• For Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Post Code 12-16): M.Sc (65% or 6.84 CGPA) + B.Sc (60% or 6.5 CGPA) in the relevant Science stream.

2. Age Limit (as on 12.02.2026)

• For Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Post Code 01-03): 18 – 35 Years
• For ‘SC’ (Post Code 04-11) – M.Tech Entry: 18 – 30 Years
• For ‘SC’ (Post Code 12-16) – M.Sc Entry: 18 – 28 Years
• Age Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen and Central Govt. employees as per Government of India rules.

Salary & Pay Scale

• Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ (Level-11): ₹67,100 – ₹2,08,700
• Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Level-10): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
• Additional Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Medical Facilities, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Group Insurance, Contributory Pension Scheme, and other benefits as per Central Government/ISRO rules.

Application Fee

• For Post Codes 01-03 (Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’): No Fee.
• For Post Codes 04-16 (Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’): ₹750/-
• Refund Policy: Fee will be refunded (full for exempted categories, ₹500 for others) only to candidates who appear in the Written Test.
• Payment Mode: Online via Bharatkosh portal (Net Banking, UPI, Credit/Debit Card).
• Exemption: Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Selection Process

The selection will be a two-stage process:

1. Written Test: Objective type screening test. The syllabus will be based on the essential qualification of the respective post.
2. Interview: Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the Written Test will be called for a personal interview.

1. Visit Official Website: Go to the SAC/ISRO recruitment portal at www.sac.gov.in.
2. Find Notification: Navigate to the ‘Recruitment’ or ‘Career’ section. Find and open the advertisement “Recruitment of Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ & ‘SC’ – Advertisement No. SAC:01:2026”.
3. Read Notification: Download and read the full 28-page PDF notification meticulously. Understand the exact eligibility for your chosen Post Code.
4. New Registration: Click ‘Apply Online’. Register by providing basic details. You will receive a Provisional Registration Number.
5. Fill Application Form: Log in and fill the detailed application. Select the Post Code carefully. Enter all educational details (from SSLC onwards) and percentages/CGPA exactly as per your certificates.
6. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of:
