Educational Qualification
Technician Apprentice – Diploma
Candidates should have a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions.

Trade Apprentice – ITI
Candidates should have passed Matriculation and completed a regular full-time 2-year ITI course recognised by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade:

Graduate Apprentice
Candidates should be regular full-time graduates in BA / B.Com / B.Sc / BBA with at least 50% aggregate marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions.
Data Entry Operator – Fresher
Class 12th pass but below graduate level, with at least 50% aggregate marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions.
Data Entry Operator – Skill Certificate Holder
Class 12th pass but below graduate level, plus a Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognised under NSQF or another authority recognised by the Central Government.
Important Higher Qualification Restriction
Passing Year / Qualification Date Requirement
- Graduate and Technician Apprentice: prescribed qualification must have been acquired between 01 April 2023 and 30 September 2026.
- ITI / Data Entry Operator Trade Apprentice: prescribed qualification must have been acquired between 01 April 2022 and 30 September 2026.
Age Limit
Candidates should be at least 18 years and not more than 24 years as on 30 September 2026.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- PwBD + SC/ST: up to 15 years
- PwBD + OBC-NCL: up to 13 years
Apprenticeship Training Period
The apprenticeship training period is 12 months.
Stipend
The monthly stipend will be paid at the rate prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Apprentices Rules 1992/2019/2025, as amended from time to time. The notification does not state a fixed rupee amount.
Selection Process – No Exam / Interview
There is no written test and no interview.
- Candidate must successfully register on the appropriate NAPS/NATS portal.
- Candidate must apply against the IOCL Western Region apprenticeship opportunity.
- Merit list will be prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in the essential prescribed qualification.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
- Candidates must pass the IOCL pre-engagement medical fitness requirement.

Can Kerala Candidates Apply?
Yes, the notification does not state a domicile restriction that excludes candidates from Kerala. However, applicants must apply only against the vacancies notified under the IOCL Western Region states/UTs: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The training location will be restricted to those notified Western Region states/UTs. Candidates should therefore apply only if they are willing to undergo apprenticeship training outside Kerala in one of the notified locations.
