Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a leading Miniratna PSU, has announced a recruitment drive for 260 Workmen on a contract basis for its Kochi unit. The CSL Recruitment 2026 is for the posts of Fabrication Assistants and Outfit Assistants across various ITI trades. Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification & Experience (as on 07.02.2026)

• Essential: Pass in SSLC (10th) and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the relevant trade.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
• Note: Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 is considered as experience for eligibility, but not for pay fixation.

2. Age Limit (as on 07.02.2026)

• Maximum Age: 45 Years (Candidate should be born on or after 08 February 1981).
• Age Relaxation:
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • PwBD & Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. norms (Max age 50 years).

Salary / Remuneration

Selected candidates will be engaged on a contract basis with the following pay:

• Basic Consolidated Pay: ₹23,300/- per month.
• Extra Hours Compensation: Up to ₹5,830/- per month.
• Maximum Total Remuneration: Up to ₹29,130/- per month.
• Higher Pay: May be offered for additional relevant experience in shipyards.

Selection Process

The selection is based purely on a Practical Test.

• Stage: Practical Test (100 Marks) conducted at CSL, Kochi.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • UR/EWS: 50%
  • OBC: 45%
  • SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
• Rank List: Prepared based on marks in the Practical Test. In case of a tie, the older candidate gets priority.
