How to use the jpg / png converter
- Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Select PNG for transparency support or JPG for a solid-background photo.
- For JPG, choose the background color used to fill transparent areas. For PNG, enable Preserve transparency when needed.
- Create the preview and check the format, dimensions and measured size before downloading.
Choosing between JPG and PNG
JPG is often suitable for photographs and smaller upload limits, but it does not support transparency. PNG supports transparent areas and lossless output. Converting a JPG to PNG does not remove its background automatically or restore detail already lost to JPG compression. Background removal is a separate optional editing step.
Can I convert an animated image or HEIC photo?
This editor supports still JPG, PNG and WebP input. GIF, animated PNG/WebP, SVG and HEIC are unsupported. Export a supported still image from your device first. The available output formats are JPG and PNG.
Your image and your privacy
Image editing runs in your browser. Usage counters send small event requests to this website without image content. Optional AI background removal downloads model assets from IMG.LY, which receives ordinary network metadata. The image itself is not uploaded by this editor.
Use a modern browser. Input is limited to 20 MB, 16 million pixels and 8000 pixels on either side. On phones, mobile-friendly editing reduces large inputs to at most 1600 pixels on the longest side and two million pixels. Check the result against the destination’s own rules; no tool can guarantee an application will accept it.
