How to use the image resizer

- Choose padding to keep the whole image, crop to fill the box, or stretching if distortion is acceptable.

Resize an image without changing its proportions
Linking width and height preserves the image’s proportions as you change one dimension. If an application requires a specific width and height, use independent dimensions and choose padding or cropped fill. Stretching can distort a face or signature. Keep “Allow smaller dimensions” unchecked when the exact pixel dimensions matter.
Does resizing make a blurry image clearer?
No. Enlarging a small image does not recover missing detail. Start with a clear original and inspect the final preview at 100% pixels. The editor reports the encoded output dimensions so you can compare them with your application’s requirements.
Your image and your privacy
Image editing runs in your browser. Usage counters send small event requests to this website without image content. Optional AI background removal downloads model assets from IMG.LY, which receives ordinary network metadata. The image itself is not uploaded by this editor.
Use a modern browser. Input is limited to 20 MB, 16 million pixels and 8000 pixels on either side. On phones, mobile-friendly editing reduces large inputs to at most 1600 pixels on the longest side and two million pixels. Check the result against the destination’s own rules; no tool can guarantee an application will accept it.
