How to use this calculator

Select all ten grades exactly as printed on your certificate, then choose Calculate from grades. The tool shows total grade points out of 90, average grade points out of 9, and a percentage estimate. It does not ask you for marks that are absent from your certificate.

How is the estimate calculated?

The grade bands are A+: 90–100%, A: 80–below 90%, B+: 70–below 80%, B: 60–below 70%, C+: 50–below 60%, C: 40–below 50%, D+: 30–below 40%, D: 20–below 30%, and E: 0–below 20%. The tool averages the midpoints of these bands with equal weight for each subject. It also averages the lower and upper boundaries to show the corresponding range. If any grade is below A+, the displayed upper boundary is excluded.

For example, ten A+ grades give 90 grade points, an average grade point of 9, an estimated average subject percentage of 95%, and a 90–100% range. They do not prove that a student obtained 100% marks. Subjects may have different maximum marks, so this equal-subject estimate is not a marks-weighted aggregate.

Can I use this estimate on an application?

Use the conversion rule specified by the receiving institution or employer. Grades alone cannot recover an exact percentage or obtained marks. This tool does not calculate HSCAP weighted grade point average (WGPA), determine eligibility, or provide an official conversion certificate.
