Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) Recruitment 2026 notification has been released for 110 vacancies across various technical, engineering, scientific, administrative and support posts. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. CPRI/06/2026.

CPRI is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, working in research, development, testing and certification related to the electrical power sector. Its headquarters is in Bengaluru, with units at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Noida, Kolkata, Guwahati and Raipur.

Candidates must also have a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025 or 2026 in the Electrical Engineering paper.

Engineering Officer Grade I – Civil

Qualification:

First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.

A valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 score in Civil Engineering is also required.

Scientific Assistant

Vacancies: 2

Candidates should possess:

First Class B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognised university along with 5 years of experience in the relevant subject field.

Qualification:

First Class three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Electrical Engineering along with 5 years of experience in the relevant field.

Qualification:

First Class three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.

Technician Grade I – Electrical

Qualification:

ITI Trade Certificate in Electrical.

Technical Attendant Grade I – 37 Vacancies

Technical Attendant Grade I has the highest number of vacancies – 37 posts.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should have passed:

Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent from a recognised Board.

Desirable Qualification

A two-year ITI Trade Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical discipline is desirable.

This means ITI is desirable rather than the essential minimum qualification for Technical Attendant Grade I. The essential qualification specified by CPRI is Matriculation or equivalent.

Upper Age Limit: 30 years.

This is therefore an important opportunity for 10th-pass candidates.

Assistant Grade II – 29 Vacancies

Candidates should possess a First Class degree in any one of the following:

BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BBM / BCA

Candidates must additionally possess a minimum Grade-B certificate in Basic Computer Course (BCC) conducted by NIELIT – National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology.

CPRI specifically states that only the BCC conducted by NIELIT will be accepted. No other computer course will be accepted for this post.

CPRI MTS Recruitment 2026

There are 14 vacancies for:

Multi-Tasking Staff Grade I – Watch & Ward Duties

Qualification:

Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board.

However, candidates should note an important condition:

All 14 MTS Grade I vacancies are reserved for Ex-servicemen.

Upper Age Limit: 25 years, subject to applicable relaxation provisions.

Therefore, these 14 MTS vacancies are not general 10th-pass vacancies; they are specifically reserved for eligible Ex-servicemen.

CPRI Age Limit 2026

Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply. The crucial date for determining age, educational qualification, category certificates and other eligibility conditions is 12 October 2026.

CPRI Salary 2026

CPRI offers Central Government pay levels under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

CPRI Examination Centres 2026

The Computer Based Examination cities listed in the notification are:

Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata.

CPRI will try to allot the examination city selected by candidates, but it reserves the right to allot another centre. Requests for change of examination centre will not be accepted.

Important for Kerala Candidates

No examination centre in Kerala is listed in this notification.

Kerala candidates who satisfy the eligibility conditions can apply because CPRI invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals; however, they should be prepared to attend the examination at one of the notified cities.

CPRI may also post selected candidates at any of its offices anywhere in India.

Date-of-birth proof, educational certificates and mark sheets, GATE score card where applicable, experience certificates, category certificates, EWS/OBC-NCL certificates, disability certificate, Ex-servicemen discharge certificate and ID card, and NOC for candidates working in Government/PSU/autonomous organisations.
