Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria as on the date of the notification (18 February 2026).

A. Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed Matriculation (10th class) under the 10+2 system.
• Must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.

B. Technical Qualification:

Selection Process

The selection for RRC Western Railway Apprentice posts will be based purely on merit. There will be no written test or viva-voce.

• Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained in both:
  1. Matriculation (10th) Examination (minimum 50% aggregate required)
  2. ITI Examination
  • Equal weightage (50:50) will be given to both qualifications.
• Tie-Breaking Rule: If two candidates have the same merit marks:
  1. Preference will be given to the older candidate.
  2. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation examination earlier will be given priority.
